Being a biker is a philosophy and living it...

If Socrates and Plato were alive today... one of them would have been a biker.

Amazing how fast time flies - There's been a lot of food drives and toy runs, including the big one here in Colorado, sponsored by Rocky Mountain H-D to The Children's Hospital the 22nd annual.  A couple others come to mind, A Righteous Ride V-twin had their 24th annual, and Classics Roadhouse had their first annual.

As mentioned in Thunder Roads Magazine - Colorado Edition recent articles included your "right to work" threat from working on your own bike, and the helmet laws are always looming, same with "loud pipes".  Revenue laws more than anything, another way for gov't to tax by way of penalties.  Where does that money go?  That's why you have no way to defend yourself.

Sunday, September 16th the NUT UN is at the Bayou House in Lucerne, Colorado

Riders in the Denver area will leave from  2Wheelers at 9:30am

Riders in the Cheyenne, Wyoming area will be leaving from Maverick Motorsports (H-D)

leaves from Maverick at 10am

Now some news that will make you hotter than you have been in a long time.  Seems that starting July 1st, 2007 if you're luckily riding through Denver, Colorado, you're bound to be chosen to receive a $500 fine for your 85 plus decibel pipes.  If you're lucky, you have 84 decibel pipes.

More in the line of the law.. it's required now in the State of Colorado, that  those age 16 to 21 wear a helmet starting July 1st, 2007.

EXTRA STUFF

IF YOU GOT RIDIN' FEVER AS BAD AS I DO, I know it cuts into riding time but take the time to check the few things that will make riding a lot better.  Surprising enough, for me, I put a dash of my favorite fuel enhancer in my tank.  H-D has a good one and it works, works way better than a person would expect it should.  Notice, fuel is my biggest peeve?  Nothing worse than bad fuel... maybe it's where I get it too (everywhere).

Here are a  few more things that make riding much nicer, these are ideas off the cuff... annoyances that tend to sneak up and bug me.

  • Throttle cables adjusted and lubed
  • Clutch adjusted
  • Primary Chain inspected / adjusted (more important than it would seem)
  • Drive belt or chain checked and adjusted
  • Tune up (of course)
  • Oil Change
  • check all fluid levels and know what your doing when you check them.

Last year went by quickly, not only for me but for a lot of people I know.  It was a year that had to be done.  Last year was filled with a lot of great events.  Some which are featured throughout the site in various places.  What's the sense of being totally organized?  However I am trying to gain some semblance of that trait only so it's easier to maneuver around.

Here we are, 2006.  And what a few first days!!!  The weather phenomenal for riding.  I have to admit.  I've seen a few large groups and wonder what the hell I missed.  It's so damn good to see fellow bikers out.  Interestingly enough, there has been that share of people with shit-for-brains out also, you know them, those drivin'  that steel rattle trap.

Old news too good to delete:

As always, nearly every day  I'm out to buzz by a few other biker's homes only to torment their fever to ride.

Nothing better than having the passion to ride.  Also there is nothing better than the feel, the sound,  the companionship, and the view that is fresh every second you ride.
